School-to-Career
The Cotati-Rohnert
Park Unified School District Board of Trustees has adopted a School-To-Career
Board Policy. This policy calls for all students to meet high standards
of academic knowledge and skills and the ability to apply their
skills to the workplace, where they will be required to adapt to
emerging technologies and changing societal needs.
Class
Size Reduction In
Cotati-Rohnert Park almost all K-3 classrooms have 20 students or
less. For grades 4-5, the average class size is approximately thirty
students. Class size varies at the secondary level.
Distinguished
Schools Five
of the District elementary schools, most recently Evergreen, and La Fiesta, along with Waldo Rohnert, Marguerite Hahn,
and Monte Vista, both middle schools, Creekside and Mountain Shadows,
and, Technology High School have earned the California
Distinguished School Award. This selection process focuses on successful
implementation of curriculum and instruction reforms. These schools
were recognized for the outstanding educational programs that they
offer to their students.
Gifted
and Talented Education (GATE)
The
elementary GATE program is a magnet program housed at Marguerite
Hahn and Waldo Rohnert elementary schools. The GATE programs at
Creekside and Mountain Shadows middle schools serve students for
a portion of their day in classes that offer instruction specifically
designed to meet the needs of identified students. Many opportunities
are available for GATE students at Rancho Cotate High School.
